<html><head></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">We are currently seeking TEACHING ARTISTS who;</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Have experience working with students from various socio-economic backgrounds, including low performing and at-risk students.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Have a passion for theater and are comfortable using creative writing and some movement to teach children.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Have a passion for working with children in grades 1-8.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Believes that every child is capable of learning and is committed to the process.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Can remain flexible when working in a school environment with the many day to day changes.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Has good classroom management skills and understands classroom dynamics.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Is able to quickly adjust their routine to meet the needs of their students.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Has theatre experience, but not necessarily as a professional.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Is able to commit to part-time work Monday-Friday, at least 2 days per week, if not more for approximately 8 weeks in the Fall, Winter or Spring of the school year.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Can work with the school staff to schedule performance dates, change room assignments and contact parents or school for discipline concerns.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Has dependable transportation.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Is able to pass a criminal background check.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to effectively communicate with DramaSmarts staff, parents and school administrators.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">Teaching opportunities will be available throughout the east side of Cleveland beginning in late September, early October. TEACHING ARTIST must be able to work between the hours of 3:15 and 4:30 for a 45-minute teaching lesson each day.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">TEACHING ARTIST are contracted on an hourly basis at a rate of $40 per hour and usually work from 4-8 hours per month. Payment is received at the end of each month.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">Requirements:</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Have at least 2 or more years of experience working with school-aged children as a classroom teacher or TEACHING ARTIST teaching drama or dance.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Applicants must be available to attend an unpaid 5-day training in early August in Cleveland, OH and be able to commit to a consecutive 8-week class for two days weekly during the after school hours with no pending conflicts.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Must be available for paid bi-weekly meetings with DramaSmarts staff.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Must be able to use the library and their own resource database to supplement the curriculum.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">• Must be punctual with submitting attendance on a weekly basis and time sheets on a monthly basis.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; "><br></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times; ">Interviews and demonstration lessons will take place the week of August 13th. Training will take place August 20-23 from 10AM-2PM.
