<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="FONT-FAMILY:'Arial','sans-serif'"><b>Luke (late20s/ early 30s)</b> Born-again gay Christian, attractive, innocent, aspiring NY actor. Luke just wants Adam to believe in God (so he won’t go to hell).</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="FONT-FAMILY:'Arial','sans-serif'"><b>Arlene – (50ish)</b> Luke’s mother, a reformed wild-woman of Southern-fried eccentricities. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="FONT-FAMILY:'Arial','sans-serif'"><b>Butch - (50ish)</b> </span><span style="FONT-FAMILY:Arial,sans-serif">Hard nosed, right wing, Southern born-again Christian. He is Luke’s homophobic father, who believes in Creationism. He raised Luke after he found God and his mother, Arlene, continued to party.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="FONT-FAMILY:'Arial','sans-serif'"><b>Holly - (30-40)</b> </span><span style="FONT-FAMILY:Arial,sans-serif">A candle store owner and Adam’s best friend and confidante. Her faith resides in self-help groups and 12 step programs. She is compassionate and witty.</span></p>

Deeply religious, reserved and serious. He has even deeper issues with his homosexuality than Luke and is </span><span style="FONT-FAMILY:Arial,sans-serif">unaccepting of his friend’s relationship with Adam.</span><span style="FONT-FAMILY:Arial,sans-serif">.</span></p>
