to present the comedy classic <i>You Can’t
Take It With You</i> on the stage of the Linda B. Kersker Auditorium at
Firestone High School. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 15,
Friday, November 16, and Saturday November 17, 2012. Tickets are $5.00 in
advance and $8.00 at the door. Reserved VIP tickets are available for just
$10.00. Advanced tickets can be purchased in the school commons from app. 11:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during school days starting Monday, November 12, 2012.
Advanced tickets can also be purchased online at BrownPaperTickets.com. Area senior
citizens are invited to attend the play for free at the Thursday evening
performance only.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%"><i><span style="background-color:white;background-repeat:initial initial">You can’t Take It With You<b> </b></span></i><span style="background-color:white;background-repeat:initial initial">is a manic comedy</span><span style="background-color:white;background-repeat:initial initial"> by Moss Hart
and George S. Kaufman. The play won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and has
since been a perennial favorite of repertory companies, schools, universities,
and community theatres. <i>You Can’t Take It
With You is </i>about a man from a family of rich snobs who becomes engaged to
a woman from a good-natured but decidedly eccentric family.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%"><span style="background-color:white;background-repeat:initial initial">The Firestone Theatre production of <i>You Can’t Take It With You </i>is under the direction of theatre
director Mark A. Zimmerman. The cast features seniors Zoe Sapienza (Alice
Sycamore), David Cardew (Ed Carmichael), Jada Langston (Miriam Kirby), Zachary
Moeller (Anthony W. Kirby), Will Banno Rothman (Boris Kolenkov), and Max Winer
(Martin “Grandpa” Sycamore). Other cast members include juniors Destiny Hampton
(Grand Duchess Olga Katrina), Brandon kline (Wilbur C. Henderson),Aidan Matney
(Paul Sycamore), Andrew Walsh (G-Man) and Rikayla Wright (Gay Wellington);
sophomores Haley Calhoun (Rheba), Morgan Csejtey Penelope Sycamore), Tyler
Gillespie (G-Man), Brian Hirsch (Tony Kirby), Charlie Kapper (G-Man), Kate
Piscetta (Essie Carmichael); and freshman Jake Pelrine (Donald.)</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%"><span style="background-color:white;background-repeat:initial initial">Junior Samantha Lewis serves as the stage manager. She is
assisted by junior Alex Friess and sophomore Kyla Davis. Junior Francine Parr
serves as the costumes mistress. Senior Imokhai Okolo serves as the productions
sound engineer. He is assisted by junior Ashton Blake. Junior Lilith Freed
serves as the master electrician. Sophomore Nalani Rodgers serves as the props
mistress. The production is supported by a number of guest artists including
Randie O. Sass (costume designer), Christopher Pepe (sound designer), and
Elynmarie Kazle (production manager).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in;line-height:200%">Firestone Theatre is the play production component of
the Akron Public Schools’ visual and performing arts program housed at
Firestone High School. The curricular track of Firestone Theatre is accessible
