mysterious women and deadly men take centre stage in this boisterous
comedy/mystery and Broadway hit. A loving tribute and entertaining spinoff of
the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock, The 39 Steps follows hapless hero Richard
Hannay as he finds himself thrust into a dangerous adventure. He stumbles upon
a plot to smuggle top secret information out of the country to aid England’s
enemies. Four actors (3 men and 1 woman play who play dozens of different
roles) and creative staging provide audiences with marvelous fun as Barlow’s

originated the role of Talk Show Host in the Broadway production of the Stephen
Sondheim/Hal Prince musical, <i>Merrily We Roll Along</i>. He also appeared on
