Witness <em style="box-sizing: border-box; ">The Excavation: </em>a theatrical examination of the life, death and resurrection of Pompeii. Rooted in the idea that human beings are frequently, blindingly, joyously wrong about most everything, this performance series seeks to understand people’s need to make sense of tragedy – artists, scientists, historians, curators, visitors – everyone who has been drawn to the story of the city destroyed by mount Vesuvius in 79 AD</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> Follow our characters around the atrium as they try to explain volcano science, the nature of art, what makes a good gladiator battle, unrequited love, and what puppets have to do with Pompeii.
