<h2 style="font-size:12pt; font-weight: bold; font-family:
sans-serif; text-transform: uppercase">CVLT announces its
84th Consecutive Season</h2>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">CHAGRIN
FALLS, OH - Chagrin Valley Little Theatre has announced
the slate for its 84th Consecutive Season, with comedies,
dramas, musicals and special events to be produced on the
main stage at 40 River Street and the smaller 65-seat
River Street Playhouse at 56 River Street. Most
performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8 PM, with
the occasional 2 PM matinee for main stage musicals.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The first
production of the season is Ken Ludwig's comedy/mystery
POSTMORTEM (September 27 - October 19, 2013), in which a
famous 1920s actor must use his vast experience playing
Sherlock Holmes to solve his own attempted murder.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The River
Street Playhouse launches its calendar with CANNIBAL! THE
MUSICAL (October 18 - November 2, 2013), an outrageous and
campy musical comedy about a group of Gold Rush
prospectors lost in the Colorado wilderness. The play is
adapted from the cult film of the same name written and
composed by Trey Parker, co-creator of <em>The Book of
Mormon</em> and <em>South Park</em>.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">CVLT's
main stage is warm and bright for the holidays with the
Dickensian classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL (November 15 -
December 15, 2013), featuring music by Alan Menken <em>(Little
Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of
Horrors</em>), lyrics by Broadway powerhouse Lynn
Ahrens, and book by Tony-nominated Mike Ockrent and Lynn
Ahrens. </p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The River
Street Playhouse, however, presents the more cynical side
of the season with David Sedaris' witty satire THE
SANTALAND DIARIES (November 22 - December 7, 2013),
detailing one out-of-work actor's tribulations working as
a Macy's holiday elf.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">After the
new year, the main stage presents the sizzling OTHER
DESERT CITIES (January 17 - February 8, 2014) by Jon Robin
Baitz, creator of TV's <em>Brothers & Sisters</em>.
The play revolves around Brooke Wyeth, a novelist who
announces to her parents that her new memoir will
publicize a dark event in the family's past.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">On the
River Street stage, THE BELLE OF AMHERST (February 21 -
March 8, 2014) will use the poetry, diaries and other
personal writings of 19th-century luminary Emily Dickinson
to reveal the famous poet's life.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The spring
musical at CVLT will be Stephen Sondheim's Tony-winning
FOLLIES (March 21 - April 5, 2014), presented 'in concert
form' and including many memorable songs, such as
"Broadway Baby," "I'm Still Here," "Too Many Mornings,"
"Could I Leave You?" and "Losing My Mind".</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The River
Street Playhouse welcomes spring with Joe DiPietro's
heartwarming THE LAST ROMANCE (April 25 - May 10, 2014); a
story about second chances and finding love in the "golden
years," told with humor and charm.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">Next up on
the main stage is TWENTIETH CENTURY (May 30 - June 21,
2014), a comedy revived by Ken Ludwig from the 1932 play
of the same name, in which a bankrupt, egomaniacal
Broadway director rides the Twentieth Century Limited to
NYC. On board, he encounters the chorus girl whom he
lifted to stardom and tries to woo her back for love and
money before they reach their destination.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The main
stage season completes in the summer time with the family
musical SHREK (July 18 - August 16, 2014), based on the
blockbuster Dreamworks film and featuring songs by
composer Jeanine Tesori and a script and lyrics by David
Lindsay-Abaire.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">The River
Street Playhouse finishes with William Missouri Downs' THE
EXIT INTERVIEW (July 25 - August 9, 2014), about a
professor who's just lost his job, a sanctimonious
university administrator, and the colorful cast of
characters who interrupt their final conversation.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">As with
every CVLT season, the 84th also includes a New Year's Eve
musical revue, several Youth Theater showcases, concerts
by the Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra, and holiday events
for children at Christmas and Halloween. The 84th Season's
official kick-off is the annual MURDER BY THE FALLS
fund-raiser murder/mystery/comedy event (September 6 &
7) which asks the audience to help crack the case. This
year's original script involves the unsolved killings of
several breakfast cereal mascots, and a special guest
appearance by NewsChannel5's Leon Bibb.</p>
