Theatre of Ohio (BTO), under the artistic direction of Christine Meneer, is
delighted to bring one of the world’s most enduring love stories,<span class=""> </span><i>Cinderella,<span class=""> </span></i>to life! BTO will present <i>Cinderella</i> at
the palatial Akron Civic Theatre for three public performances, May 4-5, 2013.</span></p>

<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt"><span style="color:black">This
beloved fairytale, set to Prokofiev’s vibrant score, will charm and delight
audiences of all ages. A timeless classic, Cinderella entertains with
humor, love, and the triumph of the good and kind, over the selfish and greedy.</span></p>

<p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt"><span style="color:black">While
this rags-to-riches story is well known, and audiences will recognize the
characters, Christine Meneer’s delightfully entertaining choreography keeps it
fresh and enthralling. Audiences will be transported to an enchanted
fantasyland where dreams come true, and deserving people live happily ever
after. Along the way, they will meet the overbearing, and extraordinarily
comical Ugly Stepsisters whose hysterical antics will have audiences wiping
away tears of laughter!</span></p>

never a dull moment in this charming, family-friendly performance. With
exquisite costumes and lovely scenery, the ballet is a visual treat. This
talented troupe of dancers is certain to delight and entertain patrons with
their grace and beauty, as well as their whimsical portrayals of a range of
fairy-tale characters. </span></p>

familiar with BTO know that coming out to Akron's “Jewel on Main Street”, as
the Akron Civic Theatre is known, is so much more than a simple trip to the
ballet – it is an event not to be missed! Each child in attendance will
be treated as a royal guest arriving at Cinderella’s Ball! Our young guests are
encouraged to fill their dance card by visiting the many attractions in the
castle. In the upper Salon the Dance Master will be on hand to teach them
to waltz. Next door, peek into Cinderella’s closet - from rags to ballgowns
it’s a magical journey! Remember to bring your camera to take advantage
of several enchanting photo opportunities. And don’t forget to enjoy a Royal
shopping spree at BTO’s fabulous boutique with an outstanding selection of

Abigail Wilhite will perform the title role of Cinderella, accompanied by
Damien Highfield as The Prince. Long time BTO guest artists Kelly Meneer,
Kim Sulek and Jennifer Black will portray the Stepmother and the Ugly
Stepsisters. Guest artist, Brian Murphy, will perform the role of the
Dance Master. Sarah Ruesch will dance
the role of The Fairy Godmother and her four fairies will be danced by Hannah
Smolinski – Spring Fairy, Ali LeBay - Summer Fairy, Amy Ott - Autumn Fairy and Kit
Smart - Winter Fairy. Michael McGill will perform the role of The King. All lead characters will come out to the
lobby to sign autographs for their adoring fans at the end of the performance.</span></p>
