<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT color=#000000><FONT face=Calibri><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><U><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">House for Sale</SPAN></U></B><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"> written by Ohio native Ron Hill and published by Dramatic Publishing is a comedy/drama with a choice of two endings.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Which one will directors Pat Robertell-Hudson and William Morgan use – they haven’t decided yet – maybe a different one on different nights – you might have to come back and see it again to fully enjoy the cast performances.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></B></FONT></FONT></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" class=MsoNormal><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><FONT color=#000000><FONT face=Calibri>Glen Martin played by Sid Freeman, last seen on our stage in <U>Be My Baby,</U> is a 70-something widower in failing health, who stubbornly resists his daughter Helen’s attempts (played by Keri Lambert) to sell his house and move in with her and her husband.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In his search for a solution to remaining in his home, Glen advertises for a roommate, pulling in several odd and interesting characters.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Once the prospective roommates arrive, he quickly loses control of the situation and mayhem erupts.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Max (Mike Groom), Glen’s crony and next door neighbor, offers his advice and becomes entangled in the melee, taking the situation from bad to worse.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun:
yes"> </SPAN>When Max suffers an accident, Glen recognizes his own venerability and begins to entertain the idea of selling, even though he worries about losing the memories connected with the house. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>In a dream, Glen’s late wife, Faye (Linda Waranai, last seen in <U>God’s Favorite)</U> comes to him and assures him that where one lives does not change the past or erase the memories and that she will always be with him.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>What ending would you choose for Glen?<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" class=MsoNormal><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><FONT color=#000000><FONT face=Calibri>Others in the cast are Walt Kaminski, a favorite with Western Reserve audiences, and April Needham of Broadview Heights, Anthony Lindo from North Royalton, Patricia Walocko of Seven Hills, Charles Leonard of Akron and Annie Meyer-Steinheiser of Cuyahoga Falls all of whom have tread the board of most of the community theatres in our area.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" class=MsoNormal><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><FONT color=#000000><FONT face=Calibri>The playwright Ron Hill is a native of Old Fort, Ohio and enjoys the small town living there.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>He has played the role of Glen in several community theatres in his area.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>This was the first of four plays that he has written and he says that the idea came from seeing an older gentleman sitting on his porch with a For Sale sign in his yard and he wondered why he would sell his house at his age and where he would go?<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" class=MsoNormal><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><FONT color=#000000><FONT face=Calibri>Pat Robertell-Hudson has acted in several WRP productions but this is her first stint at directing for us.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Multiple talented Pat has was the winner of the first ten minute play writing competition at Weathervane Playhouse in 2011 with her play <U>Trips with Grandmom.</U><SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Her co-directer William Morgan also directed that production.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>WRP Board Member Sue Snyder is the producer of this production and Maddy Francis is the stage manager.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></B></P>
