<h2 style="font-size:12pt; font-weight: bold; font-family:

Festival returns with 10 new 10-minute plays</h2>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">CHAGRIN FALLS, OH -
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre launched its first <em>10-10
Festival of New Plays </em> in 2009, putting out the
call for world-premiere scripts under ten minutes each to
be performed at its River Street Playhouse, the smaller
venue adjacent to the main theater building. That first <em>10-10
Festival</em> was such a resounding success that the
theater made it a biennial tradition. The third edition,
featuring ten new scenes from playwrights both local and
around the country, will open on June 28 and run Friday
& Saturday nights at 8 PM through July 13.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Under the direction of
Yvonne E. Pilarczyk and Kat Remick, a baker's dozen of
actors (Roger Atwell, Mark DePompei, Don Edelman, Bob
Fortlage, Priscilla Kaczuk, Matt Klaben, Kathy Lamping,
Claudia Lillibridge, Doug Lillibridge, Jerry Schaber,
Natalie Seifried, Shannon Sidorick and Art Suskin) will
present all ten of the following short plays at each
performance:</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> The show opens with <em>SEISMIC
SHIFT</em> by Cynthia Wilcox and Sarah Kellogg
(Washington, DC), which takes place moments after an
earthquake. Three siblings, all from different places
(both physically and metaphorically speaking), come
together via a technologically advanced conference call to
discuss the geographic, spiritual and financial impact of
the disaster.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Matt, in <em>THAT
LOVING FEELING</em> by Stanley Toledo (Richmond, CA), is
handling a disaster of a more personal nature. He has
fought with his wife, Kendra, and has now lost his
briefcase with a <em>very</em> important work project in
it. Can the poetry loving "Man Behind the Counter" help
him to find what he might really be missing?</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Local playwright Greg
Mandryk (North Olmsted, OH) submitted <em>SPECIAL EXTRA
TREATMENT</em>, in which a stressed maître d' must
rectify a seating snafu and meets some very tough
resistance while trying to get one couple to vacate the
best table in the restaurant.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"><em>THE LATEST NEWS
FROM THE PRIMORDIAL OOZE</em> by Rich Orloff (New York,
NY) looks at the Theory of Evolution through the eyes of
Barry and Marjorie. Can their relationship survive their
very different opinions?</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">In Donna Hoke of East
Amherst, NY's <em>LIFE LINES</em>, Lily and Mac have lost
their beloved son, Andrew, and are trying to find a way to
put their lives back together. When Andrew's girlfriend
sends them a box of his belongings from her apartment,
Lily struggles with whether or not to read Andrew's
private journal.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"><em>CANYON'S EDGE</em>
by Barbara Lindsay (Shoreline, WA) takes place at the
Grand Canyon, where Roy and Coral fulfill their lifelong
desire to see the wonder in person. There they meet Kathy,
a distressed young woman who has a life-changing decision
to make. They provide what advice they can, but find that
perhaps the larger life-changing decision to be made is
their own.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">The evening continues
with more bittersweet material; <em>FOR OLD TIME'S SAKE</em>
by David MacGregor (Howell, MI) is about a couple facing
divorce and discussing where it all went wrong, and <em>PLANTING
THE MUSIC</em> by Maureen Brady Johnson (Oberlin, OH)
follows Tess to the garden where, after the loss of her
father, she intends to keep up the family tradition of
planting garlic.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Then, over a glass of
after-dinner brandy, we meet George, the narrator of <em>AZAZEL</em>
by James Evans Remick II (Cleveland Heights, OH). George
discusses his misadventures with a 2 cm-tall demon (the
titular Azazel), that fits in his pocket.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Lastly, <em>THE LUNACY
OF METRIC MATCHING</em> by Sarah R. Osinsky (Mayfield
Heights, OH), is the romantic tale of strangers who, while
waiting for their blind dates to arrive, end up having a
blind date with each other instead.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Performances of <em>THE
10-10 FESTIVAL </em>are on Friday and Saturday evenings
at 8 PM from June 28 through July 13. The River Street
Playhouse is located at 56 River Street in Chagrin Falls.
