ALL Other Characters will need various degrees of believable New York accents. In generalized application this is usually identified as a dropping of the “R” sound from the end of words or the end of an emphasized syllable. In stronger applications, this is often paired with vowel sounds connected to an “R” mid word, being pronounced as “oi.” While Aunt Bella and Uncle Louie should have the stronger
accents, leaning toward Bronx/Upper West End - Eddie, his sons and Gert would be subtler and more Central/Staten Island in flavor. Accents are not required for the audition, but if you have accent skills, you should include that on your audition sheet.</span></font></div><div><font face="verdana, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 19px;"> </span></font></div><div><font face="verdana, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 19px;">Brief (under 2 minutes) prepared monologues will be welcomed, but not required.
