He invited CPT to work on a neighborhood event to celebrate St. John’s church on the west side. What I didn’t understand then was that this church is not just the oldest church in Cleveland, it is an authenticated stop on the Underground Railroad!<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>We are now planning the first annual Station Hope event, a one night festival of entertainment and art that commemorates St. John’s Church and the Underground Railroad, and connects this powerful history with today. Station Hope 2014 is scheduled for April 26th. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>We are modeling the format of the event after CPT’s Pandemonium with multiple stages performing simultaneously. I am reaching out to you with the hope that you may help us make this a signature event for our community. We are looking for artists, groups, and organizations that are interested in creating original performances. These performances could be site-specific or wandering through the event. We are also seeking visual artists who are interested in working with the public to create community generated art and possibly installations. And, we want to connect with choirs that can populate our main outdoor stage. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>On Saturday January 4 at 10am at Cleveland Public Theatre. We will be hosting a meeting to overview this event and talk more about the process and our goals.
