<i>Clybourne Park</i> is playwright Bruce Norris' response to the classic<span style="color:#1F497D">
</span>play <i>A Raisin in the Sun</i>. <i>Clybourne</i>, in turn, prompted <i>Beneatha's Place,
</i>noted writer-director Kwame Kwei-Armah's response to his perception that <i>Clybourne</i> perpetuates "the connotation… that whites build and blacks destroy." Mirroring the structure of
<i>Clybourne Park, </i>but following <i> </i>the restless intellectual Beneatha Younger of
<i>A Raisin in the Sun</i>, this new play gives her a new life and path far beyond that iconic Chicago living room, following her from 1959 Nigeria to a career at a California University in 2009.
