<div dir="ltr"><b>Hi Everybody,</b><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>Around 1,600 Neohiopal subscribers got a message that seemed like spam about "bounces" and needing to "re-enable" their subscription. I received around 20 inquiries from individuals asking if this was legitimate. </b></div>
<div><b><br></b></div><div><b>This bounce action from the software and message was caused by a change (which I sent out earlier today and is copied below) in Yahoo's policy. </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>The bottom line is that if you received a message similar to the one marked in red below you don't need to do anything about it. Conrad Yoder (Neohiopal webmaster), Noah Budin (assistant administrator) and I fixed each account. </b> </div>

</div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:12.666666984558105px"><b><br>The slightly longer story is that Yahoo changed their server policies so that it makes it harder to send anonymous spam, but breaks almost all mailing list software on the internet. They knew this would happen and they have no real alternative suggestion. They did this without any real warning (a few days) and they aren’t going back. If Yahoo email addresses are allowed to post, it will cause other email addresses on the list to be disabled and/or unsubscribed, and that can’t be allowed to happen.<span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"><br>
<br>If you use one of the domains above and want to post, you should get another email account with a free service such as Gmail, Hotmail/Outlook, iCloud or AOL, subscribe and post with that. <br><br>If you want even more gory technical details you can google “yahoo dmarc."</span></b></div>
