5th annual Juneteenth Conference and Concert weekend Celebration, held at Cuyahoga
Community College Metro Campus. This year's event celebrates African American freedom
with a theatrical infusion of dance, poetry, drumming and song from June 14th
to June 15th. <o:p></o:p></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center; line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal" align="center">
</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal">Saturday and Sunday features a
community-wide African dance and drum conference with master teachers from
Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast and the United States. Saturday night
features “Magal Guinou Mome Souno Boop” – Celebrating the Spirit of the Dance –
a concert performance choreographed and produced by noted artist, choreographer
and dancer Talise Campbell.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cleveland's
own Djapo Cultural Arts will join master teachers and area performers for a
moving tribute in celebration of Freedom. End the evening at the “Juneteenth
After-Party,” an African dance party where everyone dances to the rhythm of the
drums. <o:p></o:p></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center; line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal" align="center">
