<div dir="ltr">Find your
inner child on stage this summer by auditioning for <i><b>Big, the Musical</b></i>
at TrueNorth Cultural Arts. Remember how much fun it was to dance, sing,
and play on stage when you were a kid? You can experience all of that
fun and more by performing in this summer blockbuster musical. Based
on the classic 1987 motion picture that starred a young Tom Hanks. When
frustrated adolescent Josh Baskin wishes he were 'big' and wakes up the
next morning a 30-year-old man, he discovers there’s much more to being an adult than he’s bargained for and learns we must all grow up at our own pace, in our own time. <i><b>Big </b></i>was the winner of numerous awards including four Tony Awards and ten Drama Desk Awards. Director Russ Stich is looking for kids and "kids at heart" to round out the cast.<br>

<br><b>Requirements</b><br><br>Bring
a headshot & resume if available. There are many dancing roles so
be sure to highlight previous dance and/or tumbling experience<br>
<br>Prepare a contemporary musical theatre song and bring sheet music in your key (accompanist provided--no acapella auditions)<br><br>Also prepare a short comedic monologue and be prepared to read from the script (provided at auditions)<br>
<br><b>Rehearsals</b><br><br>Rehearsals will begin immediately. Rehearsals are typically held at TrueNorth in the evenings Monday through Thursdays with <br>additional
rehearsals on Saturday and Sunday. Not all actors are called for all
rehearsals. However during tech week (Sunday July 6th all day and
leading up to <br>
opening night) all actors will be called for every rehearsal.<br><br>It
is extremely important to bring to the auditions a list of ALL conflicts
between now and through the opening of the show, including any
vacations or other commitments.<br>
<br><b>Roles</b><br><br>All roles are open. There is a large ensemble with
roles available for ages 10 through adult age, males and females of any
ethnicity.<br><b><br>Character Breakdown</b><br>BILLY KOPECKI Josh's best and most supportive friend. He is optimistic, inventive, and encouraging.<br>

MACMILLAN The owner of the MacMillan Toy Company who is fighting to
save his company. Distinguished, playful, and a bit spry.<br>

protagonist. He has the mind, spirit, and innocence of a 13 year-old
trapped in the body of a 30 year-old.<br>Male, 25-35 yrs old<br>Range: Bb2 - B4<br>

SEYMOUR The Vice President for Product Development at MacMillan Toy
Company vying for Susan's affection. Handsome, aggressive,
self-absorbed.<br>

attractive, business-oriented Vice President of Marketing at MacMillan
Toy Company. Possesses a secret giddy, school-girl innocence about her.
She eventually falls for Josh.<br>
Female, 30-40 yrs old<br>Range: G3 - F5<br><br>YOUNG JOSH BASKIN Obscure, seventh grade pre-teen who is frustrated by his parents and his age.<br>Male, 11-13 yrs old<br>Range: F3 - G5 -<br><br>TrueNorth
