Creative Challenge is a one-week summer enrichment camp offered by<br>
Weathervane Playhouse and Akron Public Schools Gifted &
Talented Department<br>
open to all students entering grades 3 through 8 in the fall of
2014.<br>
Students participate in four classes each day.<br>

<b><big><u>Class Descriptions</u></big></b><br>
<br>
<b><big>MYTHBUSTERS</big></b><br>
Taught by Chicory Koren: Bachelor of Science, Education<br>
Can you tell if water is clean by looking at it? Does practice
really make perfect? Can we make a balloon go where we want it to
go?<br>
Modeled after the best science show on television, this class
uncovers the truth behind popular myths by mixing scientific
method with gleeful curiosity!<br>
<br>
<b><big>COMEDY IMPROV</big></b><br>
Taught by John Davis: SAFD, SBFD, AASSC<br>
Comedy Improv combines the rules of Improv (a form of live
theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue are made up in
the moment) with stand-up comedy!<br>
<br>
<b><big>TEAMWORK GAMES</big></b><br>
Taught by Kyle Josza<br>
(Bachelor of Arts, Political Science)<br>
Crazy, fun and weird games you can’t play by yourself! Solve
puzzles, work out of the box and defeat challenges in new and
creative ways!<br>

<b><big>HANDS ON HISTORY</big></b><br>
Taught by Kirsten Fitzgerald: Museum Educator, Hale Farm<br>
What did kids do before computers? You will be amazed to discover
that you can do it too!<br>
<br>
<b><big>FOOTLOOSE MEGAMIX</big></b><br>
Taught by Rachel Galambos: Bachelor of Theatre Arts Education<br>
Mix it up with music from Footloose, the Broadway Musical version
of the classic 1984 film!<br>
This class combines a variety of dance styles and lots of energy
into a final web video on Weathervane’s YouTube channel. Rated G.<br>

Taught by Keytsa Bishop: Bachelor of Arts Education<br>
Expand your creativity by experimenting in an art class that
explores art through different materials, artist styles and
mediums.<br>
