Chorus Seeks New Members</b></font></div>

<br><font size=3 color=#000061 face="Arial">KIRTLAND, Ohio - Aug. 18, 2014
- The Lakeland Civic Chorus, a community chorus in-residence at Lakeland
Community College, announces openings for new members for the 2014-2015
season.</font>
<p><font size=3 color=#000061 face="Arial">Specific areas of need for the
coming season are tenors and basses, but there are always openings for
sopranos and altos. Sight-reading ability is highly desirable but not a
prerequisite.</font>
<p><font size=3 color=#000061 face="Arial">In lieu of a formal audition
this year, an open rehearsal will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26 from 7:30 -
10 p.m. in room C-1078 of the Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center
on Lakeland’s main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, in Kirtland (I-90 East
at Rt. 306 exit).</font>
<p><font size=3 color=#000061 face="Arial">The chorus performs 3-4 concerts
annually and rehearses Tuesday evenings from 7:30 - 10 p.m. during the
concert season. Concerts for fall 2014 are scheduled for Sundays: Oct.
12; Nov. 9 (with the Lakeland Orchestra); and Dec. 14. </font>
<p><font size=3 color=#000061 face="Arial">Chorus members are comprised
of diverse backgrounds with ages ranging from 14 to 90. Lakeland students
are highly encouraged to join and may register for one college credit per
semester for their participation; registration is not mandatory for membership.</font>
<p><font size=3 color=#000061 face="Arial">Concerts generally are programmed
around a central theme and our wide-ranging repertoire includes classical
masterworks, Broadway, jazz, folk, country, pop and seasonal. Performances
are occasionally given with other Lakeland ensembles as well as outside
groups.</font>
