serious monologue under a minute in length. Please do not do any monologues
from the Anne Frank script, although monologues from the original diary are
fine.</b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" align="center" style="text-align:center"><b>All other roles, please be prepared to read from the script, but a
monologue will not be necessary.</b></p>

able to convincingly play 13-15 years old—<br>
</b>Intelligent, introspective, quick-witted, has occasional mood swings. A
very real teenage girl coming of age while in hiding. Her emotional growth and
maturity must be evident throughout the course of the show.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Margot Frank, must be
able to convincingly play 16-18 years old—</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Quiet, smart, struggling with the terror of the times. She
must be able to convincingly age two years throughout the course of the show.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Peter Van Daan, must
be able to play 16-18 years old—</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">A shy, socially awkward teenage boy struggling with having
his life turned upside down. Forms a connection with Anne and slowly finds his
voice.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Otto Frank, in his
50s – </b>Anne and Margot’s father. Extremely intelligent, practical, and the
natural leader of the group. Well respected. A very close bond with his
daughter and wife.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" align="center" style="text-align:center"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Edith Frank, in her
40s – </b>Anne and Margot’s mother. Sentimental and critical. Has a difficult
relationship with Anne, who finds her overbearing.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Mrs. Van Daan, in her
40s/50s – </b>Peter’s mother. Flirtatious, egotistical, hard to please.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Mr. Van Daan, in her
40s/50s – </b>Peter’s father. Opinionated, temperamental. Not afraid of
conflict.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Mr. Dussel, 30s-50s –
</b>Pedantic and controlling. Slightly obsessive.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Miep Gies, in her 20s
– </b>Secretary who helps hide the group. Kind, brave, willing to risk her
life.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Mr. Kraler, 40s-60s –
</b>Friend of the Franks who helps them in hiding. Struggles with his health.</p>
