<div dir="ltr">Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood along with Director Eric Schmeidl is casting <div>Horton Foote's 1995 Pulitzer Prize winning "The Young Man From Atlanta"<br></div><div><div><br></div><div>Auditions will be held by appt. on <b>Monday, Feb. 9th and Tuesday, Feb. 10th.</b> Slots</div><div>begin at 5:30PM for those having a rehearsal those nights, and will continue until</div><div>approximately 8PM. They will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be</div><div>provided those evenings prior to auditions, so it is recommended that you come a bit </div><div>early to look them over, as well as to fill out a few forms. and the best” in all things.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">A former
athlete he </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">has become
accustomed to success </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="text-indent:0.5in">and until these past few months </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">has experienced
very few setbacks and/or difficulties.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">
</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Now </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="text-indent:0.5in">his </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">only son has
committed suicide, and he is being fired from his </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">sales job of over
40 years </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="text-indent:0.5in">at Sunshine Southern Wholesale </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Company.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">He must embrace these trials and help his
wife, </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Lilly Dale, come
to terms with their son’s death.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u>PETE DAVENPORT</u>: Male,
Caucasian, 72 years old. Honest, quiet, authentic,
intuitive.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Originally
from Atlanta, Pete moved to Atlanta in his mid 20’s and <span style="text-indent:0.5in">worked as an
engineer for the Southern Pacific until he retired. </span>He
is Will Kidder’s father-in-law having married Lilly Dale's <span style="text-indent:0.5in">mother.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Now a widower, he lives with Will and Lilly
Dale acting </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">as a confidant
for each of the two.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u>TOM JACKSON</u>: Male,
Caucasian, 35 years old. Thoughtful,
sincere, easy-going, opportunistic.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Tom
is a young professional, husband, and father on his way up <span style="text-indent:0.5in">the corporate
ladder.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">He easily gets along with
everybody.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Will </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Kidder is Tom’s
mentor.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">The two get along very well, but
Tom </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">has been chosen
for a promotion and will soon take over Will’s </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">job.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u>CARSON:</u> Male,
Caucasian, late 20’s. Ernest,
friendly, talkative.Carson
is Pete’s grand-nephew. He grew up in
Atlanta but has <span style="text-indent:0.5in">recently moved to
Atlanta in order to find work.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">He knew
Will </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Kidder’s son,

Caucasian, 44 years old. Brash, hurried, well-educated but
not very intellectual or intuitive. Son of the founder of Sunshine
Southern Wholesale Company, Ted now runs Sunshine himself which is going
through a tough patch having lost three major clients.</p>

keeps the house for the Kidders. She is
very clever and able <span style="text-indent:0.5in">to easily
navigate through the various cultures and challenges she </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">encounters every
day in Houston.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u>ETTA DORIS</u>: Female,
African American, 50’s – 60’s. Thoughtful,
honest, determined.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Etta
Doris kept house for the Kidders back when their son Bill was <span style="text-indent:0.5in">a child.</span><span style="text-indent:0.5in"> </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">Removed from their life by many years, she
still </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">remembers the
child fondly and feels an obligation to reach out to </span><span style="text-indent:0.5in">his parents now in
their moment of grief.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><u>MISS LACEY: </u> Female,
Caucasian, 20’s. Reserved,
hard-working, detailed. Miss
Lacey is Will Kidder’s secretary at the Sunshine Southern <span style="text-indent:0.5in">Wholesale
