Musical Theater Project celebrates Valentine’s Day with “A Fine Romance: The
Love Song Cabaret” to be presented at Vosh Lakewood on Sunday, February 15,
2015 at 7pm.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This is The Musical Theater Project’s first appearance
at Vosh Lakewood. Owned by the Krivosh
family, Vosh presents a range of fine entertainment. Vosh features a menu prepared by Chef Gregg
Korney, the executive chef of the fine dining restaurant Georgetown.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Co-hosted by TMTP artistic director Bill Rudman and music director
Nancy Maier, the cabaret will spotlight classic love<span style="color:red"> </span>songs
including the ultra-romantic “Night and Day,” “All the Things You Are,”
“Embraceable You” and “Love Is Here to Stay.” But there’s lots of comedy, too,
including<span style="color:red"> </span>“Down With Love,” “Let’s Do It” and
“You Irritate Me So.”</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The oldest song was written by Cole Porter in 1928; the most
recent is a love song currently being performed in the Broadway musical
“If/Then.”</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">TMTP’s intimate show<span style="color:red"> </span>features
two popular<span style="color:red"> </span>Cleveland vocalists. Fabio Polanco appeared in the Broadway
national tour of <i>Les Miserables</i>. He has been seen locally at Great Lakes
Theater, Cleveland Play House and Cain Park and is a professor in the school of
theatre and dance at Kent State University.
Joining him is Sandra Simon, a soprano well known in both<span style="color:red"> </span>the classical and musical theater worlds. Her 2001 release with Apollo’s Fire, <i>Come to the River</i>, was a Top 10 best
seller on the classical <i>Billboard</i>
chart.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Several years ago “A Fine Romance” was presented to a packed house
at Chautauqua Institution, where it was hailed as “stylish and entertaining – a
great evening!” Cool Cleveland called it
“charming from first to last.”</p>
