<div>Award-nominated Cleveland playwright Greg A. Smith is <strong>looking for three actors (2 male, 1 female)</strong> for a private <strong>table-read</strong> of his latest full-length play <strong>‘Red Sunset’.</strong></div>

<div><u>About the play and characters</u></div>
<div>‘Red Sunset’ is a brand new dark comedy drama about denial, featuring strong adult themes and content.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Due to the nature of the table-read, exact proximity to character age is not essential and physical appearance is not important.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><strong>Ash: </strong>Female. Late teens. Modern alternative, snarky and precocious. Projects strength and confidence, but occasionally the fragility breaks through. Actress will also double with the smaller role of Dawn.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><strong>Nate: </strong>Male. Late 30’s. Serious and on-edge. Strong-willed but thrown off-guard by the events of the play. Starts the play covered in blood and unravels from there.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><strong>Geary: </strong>Male. Twenties. Chaotic, capricious and irreverent with the capacity for violence. Comes across as big, dumb and slightly dangerous, and is probably all those things and more.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><u>The Table Read</u></div>
<div>A one off private table read of the full playscript. The play runs an estimated 90minutes plus feedback and discussion, so actors would be required for 3 hours maximum.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><strong>Date and time</strong>: To be arranged as per actors’ availabilities, but before the end of March. Likewise,<strong> location to be arranged </strong>as per actors’ locations.</div>

<div>There is no payment for this read, but refreshments and food will be provided.</div>

<div><u>About the Playwright</u></div>
<div>Greg A. Smith is a Cleveland-based playwright whose debut full-length play ‘Sheltered’ was produced at the Tabard Theatre, London, UK in Winter 2014. It received multiple 5 star reviews and has been nominated for Best New Play at the Off West End Theatre Awards 2015. Additionally, Greg has had numerous short plays produced in London before recently moving to Cleveland.</div>
