<h3 style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#000; font-size:10pt;">Chagrin Valley Little
Theatre's biennial 10-10 Festival of one-acts returns with
fresh works at River Street Playhouse</h3>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -
If you love live theater but your mate balks at sitting
through an entire play, the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre
has the solution with an evening of 10 different,
10-minute plays. CVLT's biennial 10-10 Festival opens July
24 for eight performances 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
through Aug. 15.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> Directed by Yvonne E.
Pilarczyk and Kourtney Daugherty, each of the ten one-act
plays is an Ohio premiere, and some are world-premiere
stagings. CVLT began the biennial 10-10 Festival in 2009,
putting out the call for short plays to be performed at
its River Street Playhouse, the smaller venue at 56 River
Street, adjacent to the main theater building. "The first
festival was a resounding success, receiving submissions
from all over Northeast Ohio and beyond," Pilarczyk said.
"The second and third editions were equally a hit."</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">The 2015 edition
received over 700 scripts from playwrights across the US,
Canada, the UK, Israel, India, New Zealand and Australia,
which the selection committee whittled down to a lineup of
nine comedies and one darker mysterious tale. </p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Romance is in the air;
from a woman who tries an online dating service in 'HOW
VIOLET MET WATSON' by Susan Goodell, to two women who meet
and compare notes while waiting for their blind dates to
arrive in DOUBLE WHAMMY' by Liz Amberly. A husband and
wife battling over their divorce settlement instead end up
reconnecting in '30 LOVE' by Terry McFadden. </p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Taking comedy on a
scenic route, there's the notion of a romantic getaway in
a cabin in the snowy woods until company comes in 'WARMING
UP' by Andrea Fleck Clardy (Massachusetts), or a majestic
oceanfront dream home (or nightmare) in 'WATER VIEW' by
Ray Arsenault. Marilyn Millstone's 'COMPOS MENTIS'
portrays a couple interviewing for a coveted spot at a
senior living community. They're ready for the change, but
is the community ready for them?</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> In 'LAST WORDS,' by
Philip J. Kaplan, siblings at a funeral reveal too much
family business. Brett Hursey's 'THE STAND-IN' tells the
story of the biggest audition of a woman's life. Does she
have what it takes? Seth Freeman's 'THE HIGH ROAD' is the
story of a half-empty kind of guy setting out to prove to
his wife that he can be a half-full guy.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> In a departure from
the comedic mood, Aoise Stratford's 'OUR LADY OF THE SEA'
offers three stories of loss and love woven into a
mysterious and eerie tale. </p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> "The 10-10 Festival
gives new playwrights an opportunity to see their works
performed on stage, and it gives us an opportunity to
present fresh, never before seen, plays to our audience."
Daugherty said.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Actors portraying the
various roles include: Steve Kay, Brenda Willis, Amanda
Karas, Andrew Beah, Dawn Hill, Brandi Eaton, Christy
Wright, Dean Boland, Kathy Lamping, Don Edelman, Bobby
Thomas and Catherine Remick.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Show times are 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday nights at 56 River Street, west of the
main CVLT building. All seats are $12. Call the Box Office
Monday through Saturday 1-6 p.m. at 440-247-8955 or visit
the website at <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.CVLT.org">www.CVLT.org</a>. Due to the concurrent run of
the summer musical BARNUM on CVLT's main stage, audiences
are encouraged to arrive early with time for parking.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">CVLT is generously
funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts
and Culture and supported by the Ohio Arts Council. CVLT
is a proud member of the American Association of Community
Theatre. <em></em></p>
