<span class="fsl">The Kent State Trumbull Theatre is excited to
announce auditions for its Spring 2016 Production, "The Children's
Hour" by Lillian Hellman. <br>
<br>
Set in a girl's school around the turn of the century, "The
Children's Hour" explores the power of a lie. A malicious pupil
fabricates a rumour about her teachers. Rumour grows into scandal
and scandal into tragedy when the young woman sticks by her story.
"The Children's Hour" is a serious play noted for its keen
psychological insight, it helped to make Lillian Hellman a
household name.<br>
<br>
We are looking for 12 women and 2 men. Auditions will consist of
cold readings from the script. Auditions are open to the public.<br>
<br>
Show dates are March 11-13 & 18-20.<br>

<br>
<b> WOMEN</b><br>
Lily Mortar- Aunt to Martha, a fading actress who is always
trying to refan the flames of fame. Resentful of her dependence
on her neice.<br>
<br>
Martha Dobie- One of the founders and teachers at the
Wright-Dobie school. Has a strained relationship with her family
and colleagues due to fear of losing everything.<br>
<br>
Karen Wright- The other founder of the school. Excited at
prospects for the future and looking to have it all.<br>
<br>
Mary Tilford- Spoiled granddaughter of Amelia Tilford. Supremely
unhappy when she does not get her way and will do anything to
those she feels have wronged her.<br>
<br>
Amelia Tilford- Major supporter of the school and grandmother of
Mary. Wealthy, self-assured, and always looking to "do the right
thing."<br>
<br>
Agatha- Amelia's maid. Busy and has no time to Mary's
shenanigans.<br>
<br>
Peggy Rogers- Mary's roomate. Doesn't trust Mary, but wants to
impress her.<br>
<br>
Evelyn Munn- Mary's other roomate. Is easily bullied by Mary
into following.<br>
<br>
Helen Burton- a stickler for the rules and another student at
the school.<br>
<br>
Lois Fisher- a student at the school, generally amiable and
easily lead.<br>
<br>
Rosalie Wells- a student at the school. Trusted by the teachers
but with a secret.<br>
<br>

<b> MEN</b><br>
Joseph Cardin- Karen's fiance and Mary's cousin. Gentle but
firm, but not without his failings.<br>

Grocery Boy- a gawking and insensitive youth.</span></span>
