will work with diverse populations of young people with a broad range of artistic experience. This work will entail performing and exhibiting works of art, developing community partnerships to provide real-world project experiences, and guiding apprentices

<span class="x_s2">ArtWorks will take place at two sites in Cleveland, Ohio. The specific locations are still pending. The Summer 2016 session will run from Wednesday, June 15th to Wednesday, July 27th, meeting Monday-Friday from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. ArtWorks
teaching artists may be required to work pre-program (April/May 2016) events for interviews and registration of apprentices, and must attend an official program orientation and planning session in early June.</span></p>

<span class="x_s2">Teaching artists will:</span></p>
<p class="x_p1" style="font-family: Calibri, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">
<span class="x_s2">1) Complete initial proposals, weekly work-plans, and participate in planning sessions to create arts-based job-training curriculum. Curriculum will reflect the outcomes of the program, including workforce skills, artistic/personal development,
and post-secondary preparedness.</span></p>

<span class="x_s2">2) Design projects that allow apprentices to develop 21st Century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, time management, professional communication, and collaboration.</span></p>

<span class="x_s2">3) Guide apprentices to document work and create professional portfolios and resumes.</span></p>

<span class="x_s2">4) Conduct and complete assessments, evaluations, and interviews of apprentices.</span></p>

<span class="x_s2">5) Mentor apprentices, create a supportive environment for collaboration, and facilitate the development of a diverse peer network.</span></p>

<span class="x_s2">6) Plan and implement a culminating exhibit or performance in collaboration with other ArtWorks groups, in addition to other public performances.</span></p>

the deadline. An interview, written project proposal, and professional references will be required for finalists. Background checks are required and must be completed at the applicant’s expense prior to final acceptance as an ArtWorks teaching artist. After
acceptance, all artists will meet with ArtWorks staff to discuss a program theme, determine logistic and budget needs, and develop appropriate project plans.</span></p>
