He has worked in scratchboard with color wash added digitally as well as painting in acrylics and oils. He pursued a career in illustration and worked as a freelance illustrator until 1995 when he began working as an editorial artist with The Plain Dealer. He is active in the Northern Ohio Illustrators Society, where he served as an officer.
