The week will include the world premiere of Rush’s new play, “Accidental Mummies,” a performance of “Kick,” a play about sexual assault and recovery, and a workshop on building a community free of sexual assault. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The residency will be held Monday, October 10 through Friday, October 15 at LCCC. During the week, Rush and Taylor-Corbett will also present workshops with high school students and LCCC students. This workshop aims to help build a community free from sexual violence and its impact. The workshop is presented in partnership with the LCCC Theatre program, Women’s/Men’s Link. Utilizing excerpts from her one-woman show “Kick” and interactive conversation, Rush-- herself a victim of rape-- and Taylor-Corbett share some of the techniques Joanna used to overcome so she could move on. Today, she is not only a gifted and very funny performer, but an inter-spiritual minister who now counsels victims of sexual assault. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The one-woman play<b> “Kick”</b> will be performed at 8 p.m., Friday, October 14 in the Stocker Arts Center Cirigliano Studio Theatre. Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for LCCC students, staff and faculty; children 18 and under; and seniors over 65.
