and originally directed by John Michael Tebelak (from Berea, Ohio and a
Clague Playhouse Alum), with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, <i><b>Godspell</b> </i>is
one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time.
Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling
score by Schwartz, <i><b>Godspell </b></i>boasts a string of well-loved
songs, led by the international hit, “Day By Day.” As the cast performs
“Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All For
The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side,” the
parables of Jesus come humanly and hearteningly to life. Drawing from
various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades,
acrobatics and vaudeville, <i><b>Godspell</b></i> is a groundbreaking and unique theatrical experience, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love.</font></div>

<div style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;background-color:rgb(255,255,255)"><font size="3"><b>Seeking diverse ensemble of 5 women and 5 men, ages 15 to 50.</b> Flexible
casting and all roles featured. Ideal cast members will be energetic
performers who sing, dance and act, and can enthusiastically embrace the
child-like joy of the script and stories. Hope to find several
performers who also play a musical instrument (especially acoustic
guitar, percussion, piano, recorder and ukelele). All types and
ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Each actor will bring his or her
own personality traits to the production. All roles open. Please bring
a prepared song (preferably in the style of the show) and dress for
movement. The auditions will consist of solo vocals followed by a group
dance audition.
