<h3 style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#000; font-size:10pt;">Chagrin Valley Little Theatre
stages classic romantic comedy THE PHILADELPHIA STORY
weekends Jan. 19 - Feb. 3</h3>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Do you long for a
return to a more elegant society with sophisticated
conversations? One where people hang up the phone and get
dressed for dinner? Chagrin Valley Little Theatre wants to
transport you back to the more genteel 1930s-40s with its
production of Phillip Barry's classic THE PHILADELPHIA
STORY.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> Opening 8 PM Friday,
Jan. 19, the run includes a total of seven shows through
Feb. 3 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, with one matinee
at 2 PM on Sunday, Jan. 28. The show is performed in three
acts with two intermissions.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> Made famous by the
1940 film adaptation starring Cary Grant, Katharine
Hepburn, and James Stewart, Barry’s romantic comedy is a
quick-witted battle of the sexes with undertones of a
class struggle between the affluent upper and struggling
lower classes.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> According to the
show's director, Laurel Bryant, the story is relevant as
ever. It unfolds on the wedding of popular socialite Tracy
Lord (played by Talia Valline) as she prepares to marry
her fiancee George (Matthew Mayer). Soon the intrusion of
the media and her ex-husband (played by Christopher
DiMichele) ignite clashes of family and class clashes, as
well as romance.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> “Our goal is to bring
the audience into a Philadelphia mansion and have them
feel a part of that era, while keeping our costume and set
design in budget,” Bryant said. “For me, it is also a
family affair. My niece, Amanda Bryant, is the show’s
costume designer, and she shares a love for this time
period with me. My nephew, John Hickman, is one of the
actors in the show."</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> “We are also setting
the mood with music. Lisa Freebairn, a DJ with WKHR, is
selecting the production's soundtrack from the Great
American Songbook period.”</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;"> The Lord family also
includes Sue Cohen as “Margaret Lord” and Dennis Burby as
"Seth Lord." Celia Hawk makes her CVLT debut as the young
“Dinah Lord” with John Hickman as "Sandy Lord." The cast
also features Emmy Cohen as reporter “Elizabeth Embrie,”
Andrew Gordon as “Mike Connor”, Michael J. Rogan as “Uncle
Willie,” and Don Bernardo as various additional
characters.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;">Tickets are $18 for
