<i>Nunsense</i> has the ring of personal experience. Goggin, a former seminarian, was brought up in Roman Catholic schools. And unlike other playwrights who often satirized the darker side of a Catholic upbringing, Goggin had a thoroughly happy parochial
school experience. "Many of the nuns who taught me were funny people -- I only recall one who was in any way severe," he said. "Every nun in the show is based on someone I knew growing up. Of all the people who attend the show, the greatest fans are priests
and nuns." <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<i><span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1D2129">Nunsense</span></i><span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#1D2129"> begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their
cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium,
which is currently set up for the eighth-grade production of “Grease.” The audience meets Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer who can’t resist the spotlight, played by Sharon Lloyd of Shaker Heights; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices
who has her eyes on Mother Superior’s job, played by Shelly Palumbo of Kent; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne, played by Carri Wagner of Akron; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who wants to be the first nun ballerina, played by Macey Staninger
of Solon; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head, played by Jessica DeFrange of Kent.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<i>Nunsense</i> gives each performer her own chance to shine.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Nunsense</span></i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> is directed and choreographed by Chanda K. Porter of Akron who says she has “been blessed with a fabulously talented
group of actresses who truly are the answer to a director’s prayer.” From her choreographer perspective, Porter also was attracted by the wide variety of dancing styles in
<i>Nunsense</i>. “The dance routines in the show really help tell the story, especially the novice who wants to be a ballerina. And who doesn’t want to see tap dancing nuns?!”<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<i>Nunsense</i> is Dave Stebbins of Stow and is assisted by Ron Jones, also of Stow. The set designer for
