explores romance, egos and discarded dreams in a touching,
funny drama (March 23 – April 8)</h3>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left"> Chagrin
Valley Little Theatre presents THE COUNTRY HOUSE, a
contemporary and funny drama about egos, jealousies and
relationships written by Pulitzer-prize winning playwright
Donald Margulies. The run includes eight weekend
performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. March 23 –
April 7 with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. March 25 and April
8.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left"> THE
COUNTRY HOUSE gathers a brood of actors, some famous and
others still aspiring to be famous, at a summer home in
the Berkshires during the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
The house soon becomes crowded with family members,
friends and acquaintances. As they interact with each
other, secrets are spilled, and kinship bonds are broken.
Old memories give way to new loves and discarded dreams
(with satiric nods to the iconic works of Russian
playwright Anton Chekov.)</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">Directed
by Brian Westerley, the play features Margo Parker as
aging actress “Anna Patterson” - the role which Blythe
Danner perfected during the play’s original Broadway run
in 2014. Also appearing on CVLT’s stage are local actors
Roland Moore as Anna's son “Elliot,” Kevin Jones as her
son-in-law “Walter Keegan,” with his daughter “Susie”
(Kaytie Leonard) and girlfriend “Nell” (Kerry Scanlon).
Sean McCormick appears as “Michael Astor,” a handsome
young actor. Edmond Wolff serves as the show’s technical
director and Cindee Catalano is the producer.</p>
<p style="font-size:10pt; font-weight:normal;font-family:
arial, sans-serif; color:#000000;" align="left">THE
COUNTRY HOUSE will be staged at CVLT’s Main Stage theater,
40 River St. in Chagrin Falls. Tickets are $18 for adults
and $14 for seniors and youth. Group rates for parties of
10 or more are available. Reserve your seat by contacting
CVLT.org, calling 440-247-8955 or stopping in at the Box
Office. Office hours are 1-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.</p>
