Homeless mother Hester La Negrita lives
with her five kids on the tough streets of the inner city. Her kids, played by
adult actors, double as five other people in her life: ex-boyfriend, social
worker, doctor, best friend and minister. While Hester's kids fill her life
with joy (comical moments amid the harsh world of poverty) the supposedly
supportive adults only hold her down.
