<h3 style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#000; font-size:12pt;">Chagrin Valley Little Theatre
set to make a splash with Disney's "The Little Mermaid"</h3>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">CHAGRIN
FALLS, Ohio - Director Michael Rogan and a cast of over 40
actors (and one dog), will bring Disney's THE LITTLE
MERMAID to the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre stage this
month. Performances of the timeless tale of a
free-spirited mermaid longing for life out of the sea will
be on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM from November 16 to
December 16. Tickets are $21, with $4 off for students and
seniors. Two of the Sunday matinees have already sold out,
but <em>Friends of Women Safe</em> is selling tickets to
the remaining Nov. 25 matinee as a fundraiser at
<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.fows.info">www.fows.info</a>. </p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">Based
on the Hans Christian Andersen tale, THE LITTLE MERMAID is
the story of princess Ariel (played by Sarah Gordon), who
finds her life beneath the waves with King Triton (Eric
Oswald) unfulfilling. With the aid of her friends Flounder
(Ben Mulvaney) and Sebastian the crab (John Kolar), she
embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. She strikes a deal
with the sea-witch Ursula (Kat Kellie) and trades her
voice for legs, striking out for the human world and the
arms of Prince Eric (Aidan Bryson).</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">The
musical features familiar songs from the hit Disney
animated film, including “Under The Sea,” “Kiss The Girl”
and “Part of Your World,” as well as new songs written by
Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken (“Beauty and the
Beast,” “Aladdin”, “Pocahontas”). The lyrics are by Howard
Ashman and Glenn Slater with a book by Doug Wright. CVLT's
production is accompanied by a seven-piece band under
David W. Coxe's direction, with choreography by Sarah
Gordon, and a raft of special props, projections, and
costumes helping to bring Edmond Wolff's scenery to life.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">Mr.
Rogan has directed several of CVLT's holiday-season
musicals, including last year's run of <em>Beauty and the
Beast</em>, which shattered box office records at the
243-seat venue in historic Chagrin Falls. Now in the midst
of the Theatre's 89th Season, LITTLE MERMAID brings many
of the same actors back together, as well as many new
faces, for a heartwarming, toe-tapping, colorful
experience that the whole family will love.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">Tickets
are available at CVLT.org, by phone at 440-247-8955, or at
the Box Office at 40 River Street 1-6 p.m. Monday through
Saturday. Advance reservations and arrival are
recommended.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">CVLT
is generously funded by Cuyahoga County residents through
Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and is supported by the Ohio
Arts Council. CVLT is a proud member of the American
Association of Community Theatre.</p>
