collaboration came about after North Royalton resident, Kristin Egan, began
dropping into adult classes at Dance Arts and attending the studio’s many
community performances. Ms. Egan is a
member of the orchestra’s Board of Directors and has been playing flute with
them for many years. “Playing Tchaikovsky’s Suite with the Parma Symphony
Orchestra has always brought to mind fond memories of watching the ballet,” she
says. When she approached Dance Arts’
director, Regina Pietraroia, about the idea, Ms. Pietraroia was ecstatic: “As a
dancer, there is nothing more powerful than feeling the vibrations of the music
you are dancing to, and the energy from the musicians. It’s an incredible
opportunity for my young students to experience that.”
