repressive Catholic boys' boarding school, four students discover the forbidden
text of Shakespeare’s play <i>Romeo and Juliet </i>and secretly enact the play,
taking turns reading the play aloud. The words and story are thrilling to the
boys, and they become swept away in an athletic deluge of adolescent agitation,
anxiety, and fierce desires that parallel their own lives. Although they had
been taking turns playing all the parts, two of the boys eventually emerge
playing Romeo and Juliet exclusively, bringing a whole new dimension to the
proceedings. </span></p><p></p>
