<h3 style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#000; font-size:12pt;">Humor takes a sound bite out
of politics at CVLT the River Street Playhouse production
of ‘The Taming’ Feb.21-March 7</h3>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">CHAGRIN
FALLS, Ohio - Just in time for the Ohio Primary Election,
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's River Street Playhouse
presents Lauren Gunderson’s comedic play, THE TAMING.
Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Feb. 21 -
March 7 and at 2 p.m. Sunday March 1. The River Street
Playhouse is located at 56 River St. in downtown Chagrin
Falls.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">The
smart and sassy play asks what could happen if a
conservative US senator’s aid, a liberal activist, and a
sparkling southern beauty queen with a law degree get
locked together in a hotel room. The answer is that these
three women just might take a crack at restructuring the
American Constitution.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">Gunderson,
who has been recognized as America's most-produced living
playwright for since 2016, takes her inspiration from
William Shakespeare’s classic play “The Taming of the
Shrew.” This all-female farce has its Catherine pleading
for the taming of our “infighting, name-calling,
house-divided country.”</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">Directed
by Christine Wright, the cast includes Jill Kenderes as
Catherine, Kat Kellie as Patricia, and Annette Daniel as
Bianca. Kendra Schaefer is the stage manager and Helen
Rizi is managing the lights and sound. The show is
produced by Kourtney Highland.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">“I
can think of no better time to stage THE TAMING than the
100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which
enshrined forever a woman’s right to vote,” said Wright.
“Much like the play’s three protagonists, I am enamored of
the nation I am privileged to call home. I believe
strongly in equal representation, the establishment of
justice, and the promotion of the American people’s
general welfare. Should we do as Miss Georgia suggests and
‘redesign America like the Founders intended through
reasonable discourse, ensuring tranquility and the
unbiased fairness that God and George Washington gave
us?’”</p>
<p style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt">Good
seats are available. Tickets are $13 and may be purchased
at CVLT.org or by calling 440-247-8955. The Box Office,
located at 40 River St. in Chagrin Falls is open 1-6 p.m.
Monday – Saturday.</p>
