A cash prize (percentage of admissions receipts) will be awarded to the winning playwright for the Best Play based on audience vote. A judging panel will vote on the following categories and certificates will be awarded to the Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Creative Writing (playwright award). <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Rules:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Deadline for submission, Friday, April 10, 2020 <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Plays must be submitted in pdf form by email to lslittle@wideopenwest.com<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Note: Dover Players’ plays are performed in a church sanctuary (no stage curtain), therefore space is limited. We do provide side curtains for actor and actress entries/exits to and from the stage. Keep this in mind when submitting your play. (A diagram of the performance space is available upon request.) <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Plays must: <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Be G or PG rated<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Be written by and all rights owned by the playwright submitting the play<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Be produced without royalties, per agreement by the playwright <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Require no more than 5 actors (doubling of roles permitted)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Have minimal props, setting and sound/lights (due to space limitations) <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Be able to be performed in approximately 10 minutes <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Be limited to 1-3 play submissions per playwright<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Plays that were not performed during Dover Players 10 Minute Play Experience in 2019, may be resubmitted.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>If your play is selected and you do not live locally, the play will be directed by one of Dover Players' directors and cast through the Dover Players' audition process.
