<p class="MsoNormal">KARAMU HOUSE: SEEKING SCENIC CARPENTER<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Karamu House Theatre is seeking a Scenic Carpenter to assist our Technical Director in set creation and installation. This position is up to 40 hours per week, with some nights and weekends expected.
Carpenters are directly responsible for creating scenic pieces from wood, metal, foam, or plastic. Daily work assignments and project deadlines are set by the Technical Director and Director of Production. Experience with rigging and the ability to read and
understand construction drawings is preferred. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Successful candidates will possess the following:<br>
- Stage carpentry experience and skills<br>
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vector Works a plus (but not required)<br>
- Knowledge and safe use of standard scene shop tools<br>
- Ability to read and understand design and construction drawings<br>
- Rigging skills a plus (but not required)<br>
- Must be capable of ladder work and the typical physical activity associated with production work<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">-Work load-ins and strikes, as assigned<o:p></o:p></span></p>
