<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Story: </strong>Combine a film masterpiece by Alfred Hitchcock with a juicy spy novel and add a large splash of zany, over-the-top theatrics. The result? A fast-paced whodunit with four versatile actors portraying more than 50 roles!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">London, 1935. The rather dull Richard Hannay encounters a woman who claims to be a spy. When she is suddenly murdered, Richard finds himself the focus of a nationwide manhunt led by a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Characters: </strong>All the roles in the play are performed by four actors.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">One plays Richard Hannay: this role has been cast.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">One female plays the three women in the play: Annabella Schmidt, an exotic German secret agent; Pamela, a beautiful English woman; and Margaret, a Scottish farmer’s young wife.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">And two “clowns” play every other character, including heroes, villains, men, women, children, and even the occasional inanimate object.</span></p>

Auditions will be held at Clague Playhouse. A limited number of perusal scripts are available at the Clague Playhouse Box Office, Wednesday - Saturday 1:00-6:00pm, for a $10 deposit through June 15, 2023.</span></p>
