For over 30 years, Cleveland Academy of Film Acting supported both new and experienced actors with ongoing, weekly acting training. When we had to shut our school doors in 2020 due to the pandemic, a new opportunity arose for virtual sessions. We found that hosting semi-private classes with actors able to perform from the comfort of their own homes fostered student growth in a way that large public classes didn't. Rebranding as The Academy of Film Acting, we went on to work with online students across the country before ending the classes two years ago as both instructors retired from teaching.

In the last couple of years, some gentle nudging from folks wanting classes to resume has prompted a new Spring series of weekly training with one of the former instructors. Classes will remain virtual via Zoom and will stay semi-private (just you and your scene partners) but we'll be doing things a little bit differently this time around. The ongoing classes are split into two main focuses: Wednesday Scene Study and Thursday Audition Prep. Classes are changing from 60 minutes to 75 minutes, and with a new booking portal via Square, there's now a wider array of payment options, including AfterPay and CashApp.

Whether you are looking to sign up for weekly sessions or you just want to brush up on your skills by popping in for a class or two, spots are available to book through March and April. You are welcome to sign up for as many or as few as you'd like. There will also be two special focus workshops, which will be two hours each and open to a slightly larger group. March 14th will dive into the acting world from a business perspective, helping you build a better business mindset as an actor. The April 11th workshop Emotional Blueprints will help you connect to your scenes on a deeper level.

These classes are for adults, but if you have a child or teen interested in classes, I do have space for a couple of youth workshops. Please inquire with me directly, as I will determine whether or not to book this based on the overall interest for it.

For those of you signing up for multiple classes, if you register for four or more classes in one month, you'll get 15% off your total. Use promo code MONTHLYSAVE at checkout. This code only works if you have enough classes in your cart to activate it.

REGISTER FOR CLASSES HERE:

In her film and television career, she worked in nearly every capacity both in front of the camera and behind it, including as host of a nationally syndicated television show for over a decade. Her work spanned hundreds of television episodes, as well as dozens of films and commercials. In this series of classes, students will learn from her all-around experience of the craft.

About Wednesday Scene Study: Stepping onto a film or TV set demands more than memorized lines. It requires preparation and an ability to collaborate under pressure. In this class, students will build habits that make professional work feel natural instead of overwhelming. Through supportive coaching, actors will discover how to stay connected to their choices while taking new direction and adapting to their scene partners. The goal is simple: help actors walk onto any set feeling capable, focused, and ready to deliver their strongest work.

About Thursday Audition Prep & Cold Reads: Stepping into an audition room can feel intimidating, especially when you’re handed a script you’ve never seen before. This class prepares actors to turn that moment into an opportunity. Through supportive, hands‑on practice, students learn how to adapt to the scene quickly and bring their unique authenticity to a character, even with only minutes to prepare. In addition to practicing cold reads, we cover everything that goes into an audition, what to expect, and how to be best prepared. We focus on building confidence, clarity, and presence so that every student walks in ready to show their best work.
