host for musical rainbow prep videos
As a compelling actor with a passion for music and early childhood education, the Musical Rainbow Prep Video Host will host preparatory videos that engage students and teachers in PNC Grow
Up Great pre-k programs as well as families prior to attending a Musical Rainbow concert at Severance Hall.
Collaborating with The Cleveland Orchestra’s Education Department, the host will demonstrate participatory activities and perform children’s songs in the Musical Rainbow Prep Video recordings. The host is expected to study and prepare the script, activities
and songs in advance of filming. All instruments, props and materials will be provided.
Prep Videos for Spring 2018 include:
- 1 Concert Prep Video (introduces concert etiquette and Severance Hall) [1-2 min]
- 4 Instrument Prep Videos (engaging, participatory videos that focus on one instrument of the orchestra with curricular learning objectives for students ages PreK-grade 1) [5-6 min]
- 8 Song Videos (children’s songs like Twinkle Twinkle, BINGO, Old MacDonald) [1-2 min]
The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- Warm and nurturing disposition
- Passion for music and early childhood education
- Ability to introduce content in an age-appropriate manner for pre-k students
- Vocal performance experience
- Willingness to collaborate with Education staff
All ethnicities, ages, races, and genders encouraged to apply
Time commitment: one 6-8 hour filming day in both January and February; script read-throughs in person or over the phone prior to filming.
Compensation for video recordings will be a competitive hourly rate for video recordings, plus a material preparation fee. AEA/SAG contracts available.
