Millennial Theatre Company to Hold Auditions for Area Premiere of Mean Girls the Musical!
Youngstown, Ohio - The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is holding an open casting call for Mean Girls the Musical. Auditions will be held at the Youngstown Playhouse (600 Playhouse Lane) on Thursday, January 8th, from 5:30pm-9:30pm and Saturday, January 10th, from 11pm-3:30pm. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN!
Please come prepared with a 30-60 second cut of a song in the style of the show. A headshot and resume are encouraged but not required. No accompanist will be provided, so please bring a track (Bluetooth speaker will be provided). Actors should be prepared to do cold read sides from the show and also learn a short dance combo! Rehearsals will run Monday-Thursday 6-9pm starting in mid-late February at The Youngstown Playhouse. Signups for audition slots can be found at millennialtheatre.org. Walk-ins will be accepted as slots become available.
Mean Girls tells the story of Cady Heron, who may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.
