Pen Pals

Audition Dates and Times: Tuesday, July 7 at 7:00 PM and Wednesday, July 8 at 7:00 PM

Location: CVLT's River Street Playhouse, 56 River Street, Chagrin Falls, OH

Performance Dates: August 21, 22, 28, 29 at 7:30 PM and August 23 and 30 at 2:00 PM

Details: Rehearsals begin mid-July and run Monday through Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Come prepared to read from the script. Seeking two women (ages 50 plus).

Synopsis: Bernie and Mags live in two different countries. They've never met, yet they are best friends because they've been pen pals for more than fifty years. Since they were teenagers, they've shared every aspect of their lives with each other. Pen Pals is an extraordinary story about the enduring power of friendship and the importance of connection.

Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor

Audition Dates and Times: July 18 and 19 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Callbacks: July 20 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Performance Dates: September 25 through October 4, 2026 (Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Sundays September 27 and October 4 at 2:00 PM)

Synopsis: Set in September 1934 at the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, this madcap, screwball comedy involves world-famous tenor Tito Merelli, a double dose of tranquilizers, a frantic assistant in identical costume, and a hilarious series of mishaps guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.

Available Roles:

Max (Ages 20s to early 30s): The underdog hero. A strong, legit tenor voice is desirable but not a deal breaker.
Tito Merelli (Ages 30s to 50s): A world-famous Italian superstar tenor. A strong, legit tenor voice is desirable but not a deal breaker.
Saunders (Ages 50s to 60s): An authoritarian, high-strung, and fiercely pragmatic businessman.
Maggie (Ages 20s to early 30s): A sweet, bright, and slightly naive ingenue.
Maria (Ages 30s to 50s): A fiercely proud, explosive, and deeply passionate wife.
Diana (Ages 30s to 40s): An ambitious prima donna soprano.
Julia (Ages 60s to 70s): The grand dame of Cleveland society.
The Bellhop (Any age): A cynical, hyperactive star-worshipper.

The Lion in Winter

Audition Dates and Times: Sunday, July 26 and Monday, July 27 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Location: CVLT Main Stage, 40 River Street, Chagrin Falls

Performance Dates: October 30 at 7:30 PM, November 1 at 2:00 PM, November 6 and 7 at 7:30 PM, and November 8 at 2:00 PM

Details: No preparation necessary; auditions consist of cold readings from the script. Video auditions are not accepted. Rehearsals run Sunday through Thursday evenings starting September 13. Please note that the roles of Henry and Eleanor have already been cast.

Available Roles:

Alais Capet (Age 20-30): The sister of Philip Capet, raised by Eleanor, and mistress of Henry.
John (Age 16-20): The youngest son, immature, and his father's choice for the crown.
Geoffrey (Age 20-30): The middle son, cerebral, and usually not considered in family matters.
Richard (Age 25-35): The oldest son, a skilled warrior, and his mother's choice for the next king.
Philip Capet (Age 20-35): The young, strong King of France.

Deathtrap

Callbacks: Wednesday, October 14 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Performance Dates: January 22, 2027 through February 7, 2027 (Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Sundays at 2:00 PM)

Details: Bring a headshot or recent picture, a resume, and a list of conflicts from November 15 to February 7. Auditions consist of script readings. Rehearsals are Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM starting November 15. All identities are encouraged to audition.

Available Roles:

Sidney Bruhl (Male Presenting, Mid 40s-60s): A once-acclaimed author dealing with a creative drought. Ambitious, charming, and sharp.
Clifford Anderson (Male Presenting, 20s-30s): An attractive, talented young writer who hiding darker ambitions under a naive exterior.
Myra Bruhl (Female Presenting, Mid 40s-60s): Sidney's loving, supportive, and calming wife.
Helga Ten Dorp (Female Presenting, 30+): A free-spirited celebrity psychic. Dutch accent is encouraged.
Porter Milgrim (Male Presenting, 30+): Sidney's sharp, observant friend and attorney.
