CASTING DIRECTORS DO THE HEAVY LIFTING IN THIS BUSINESS. IT IS OUR FIRST TASK TO IMPRESS THEM! IF THEY DON'T LIKE YOUR AUDITION, THEY WON'T SEND IT TO THE DIRECTOR! That's just the way it is.
