Spring Awakening

Aurora Community Theatre closes its 62nd season with Spring Awakening, the last of three productions of 2021-2022.

 

Founded in 1959, ACT and has earned the admiration of our patrons and the reputation of presenting fine community theatre. Many factors have helped build this reputation. The philosophy of ACT entails respect for the individual, willing cooperation of all involved and a striving for excellence.  

 

Featuring the book and lyrics by Steven Sater with music by Duncan Sheik, Spring Awakening is based on on the 1891 German play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind.  

  

Winner of eight Tony Awards, this landmark musical explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with poignancy and passion in an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality, and rock and roll.

Director Brian Westerley led the creative team with D. Keith Stiver, musical director, Marc C. Howard, choreographer, Erin Matson, producer and Ann Nyenhuis Technical Director/Stage Manager. .

 

The talented cast of thirteen actors includes Eryn Book, Jonathon Clarke, Korinne Carroll Courtwright, Julia DiPaolo, Shaun Furter, Anthony Ghali, Brooke Hamilton, Mark Hilan, Barbara Howitt, Jordon Matthew, Zenzele Pelligree, Kegan Sulamoyo and Corey Thur.
