Ss. Robert & William Parish and St. John of the Cross Parish in Euclid are seeking a full- time Music Director. The Music Director will oversee the music ministry for both parishes.
Requirements:
· A practicing Catholic in full communion with the Catholic Church. Demonstrated understanding of compliance with Catholic Church’s teaching, traditions, values, and direction about Catholic formation and Liturgy.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Music or Theology. A combination of experience or other relevant training be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Certification, experience, or formation leadership training in Catholic liturgy. ·
· Demonstrated ability to judge and select appropriate music for Catholic liturgy and formation.
· Able to lead music and worship confidently.
· Collaborative team member.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Excellent keyboard, organ and piano and/or guitar and vocal skills.
· Experience with traditional Catholic music and contemporary Catholic/Christian music and directing Adult and Children’s choirs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Understand and promote the mission for Music Ministry.
· Coordinate, plan and provide music leadership and support for Sunday and Holy Day liturgies, parish missions, parish retreats, weekday liturgies (4 pm at both SJC & SRW, 7:45 am and 10:15 am at SJC and 9:00 am and 11:30 am at SRW), prayer meetings, funerals, weddings, and other parish events as appropriate.
· Lead music at weekend and Holy Day liturgies on a regular basis. The full-time director will be present at 4 weekend Masses per weekend. The assistant will cover 2 of the weekend Masses. The SRW 6 pm Sunday Mass is covered by a separate ministry.
· Supervise associate musicians.
· Oversee the creation and production of all worship bulletins.
· Attend and participate in staff meetings.
· Oversee the maintenance of the organ, pianos, sound, other musical instruments, and auxiliary equipment.
· Prepare yearly music budget for review and approval.
· Oversee accurate and timely pay reports for associate music ministers.
· Recruit and train new individuals to participate in the music ministry.
· Recruit, train, and evaluate music leaders, as necessary.
· Facilitate regular or occasional meetings/rehearsals for instruction, inspiration, and communication for musicians.
· Respond to daily correspondence in a timely manner.
· Adult Choir: Recruit singers, prepare and lead choir for service at liturgies as required.
· Ensure all copies of music used at the parish are legal, authorized copies.
· Coordinate technology used at Masses.
· Coordinate the Liturgical Ministry Scheduling Program.
