Director of Youth Education and In-School Learning
The Director of Youth Education and In-School Learning will work with the Director of Adult Programming and coordinate with the Education Coordinator.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Work with the Lead Teaching Artist to present quality youth programs
· Assist the Education Coordinator in developing strong relationships with schools, community centers, youth organizations, and other appropriate venues
· Work with the Director of Adult Programming to oversee the Opera Avengers podcast
· Recruit singers and teaching artists to present youth programming on behalf of the Great Lakes Light Opera
Required qualifications:
Strong knowledge of operatic/classical vocal repertoire and Ohio Learning Standards. Detail oriented, highly organized, self-sufficient, creative, positive and assertive attitude. Proficient in MS word, articulate verbal and written communication skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and ability to think quickly on your feet.
Preferred skills:
Education, public speaking, podcast production.
Time commitment:
10 hours per week, flexible schedule
Compensation:
Volunteer position with opportunity for growth. Successful candidates will earn money for programming and/or grant-writing, up to $20k per year.
