Youngstown, Ohio- Let's do the Timewarp again! The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is holding auditions for the return of the cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show! Auditions will be held at Inspire Dance Center in McDonald (241 E Marshall Rd McDonald, OH 44437) on August 26th from 6-9pm and August 28th from 12-3pm. Rehearsals are slated to begin September 7 in Youngstown. All performers will need to be vaccinated for COVID-19 before rehearsals. Unvaccinated actors may audition, but will need to complete their COVID vaccine series before starting rehearsals. Proof of vaccination will be required before the first rehearsal.
The show will be performed as an immersive production on October 21 at 7pm and 22-23 at both 7pm and midnight at B&O Station in Youngstown Ohio, directed by Joe Asente with musical direction by Constance Notter and choreography by Emma James.
Auditioners (ages 16+) should prepare a 30-60 second cut of a song in the style of the show (preferably sheet music with chords). An accompanist will be provided. There will also be a cold read from the script. The role of “Columbia” has been cast, and all other roles are open. Headshots and resumes are encouraged, but not required.
The Rocky Horror Show follows the story of sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”
