Dancing Classrooms is
our premier program offering. The Dancing Classrooms program is a 10-week, 20-session residency program that uses ballroom dancing as a vehicle to change the lives of not only the children who participate in the program but also the lives of the teachers
and caregivers who support these children. Dancing Classrooms is not about teaching dance. The dance is a “tool” for getting the children to break down social and cultural barriers, while working together to achieve a common goal. Watch HERE.
A Teaching Artists (TAs) has the following character traits:
We are seeking individuals that:
DCNEO Teaching Artists are: actors,
dancers, and individuals who can move with rhythm; have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy working with children; are able to work in-person in a school classroom setting; have a generous spirit, a sense of humor, and willingness to travel to schools throughout
Northeast Ohio (primarily Cuyahoga County county).
Employment: Upon
employment, all TAs are fingerprinted annually with the State of Ohio. TAs are paid on an hourly basis ($30-$35/hour) as seasonal, part-time employees. Employment is during the school year, on school days, between the hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Requirements: All
applicants must be available to attend an initial paid training on August 3-7, 2026 from 9:00am - 3:00pm in Broadview Heights. Training commitment is non-negotiable, please do not apply if you're unable to fulfill the training commitment.
Upon successful training, TAs make a solid commitment to a sequential 10-week residency, two days per week,
in person during the hours of 7:30am - 4:00pm. All school assignments are made based on TAs availability submitted to DCNEO staff.
