FINAL WEEKEND!
THE PRIDE by Alexi Kaye Campbell
at convergence-continuum
THE PRIDE has its final three performances this Thurs, Fri and Sat.
"explicit, hard-hitting theater” “an enthralling piece of theater" Mark Horning, Talkin’ Broadway
The Pride is a collage portrait of two parallel love stories, in 1958 and 2008, between two different couples, both named Phillip and Oliver. In 1958 Phillip, who is married to Sylvia, has an illicit affair with Oliver, which would have been considered a criminal offense if it were ever discovered. In 2008 a different Phillip and Oliver have the freedom to conduct their relationship in the open. But do they appreciate the freedom to be who they are - or even know what to do with that freedom? One play. Two stories. Three characters interweaving in time.
Winner of Critic Circle Award: most Promising Playwright
Winner Laurence Olivier Award: Outstanding Achievement
Winner GLAAD Award: Outstanding New York Theatre Production
The Pride is directed by convergence-continuum’s Jonathan Wilhelm and features con-con actors David Munnell, Brian Westerley, Amy Bistok and Beau Reinker.
