Amy Campbell is a NYC based dancer, choreographer, performer, teacher, director and producer. A native Ohioan, she received a BFA in dance and choreography from the Ohio State University, taught and choreographed competitive studio dance, and performed with multiple modern and dance theatre companies. Amy has also served as a advocate for our field by serving on Dance/NYC's Junior Committee for two years. Her work has been shown at Triskelion Arts, Dixon Place, University Settlement, and performance spaces, galleries, and nightlife happenings throughout the city. She has performed with many musicians, nightlife artists, and contemporary choreographers in her 10 years in the Big Apple, most notably Backspace Performance Ensemble, aemp:dance/Amiti Perry+Dancers, Kelly Donovan & Dancers, Yula and the eXtended family, and Fashion Week Noise. She was in house choreographer for the Mary Jo Camel Show, produced monthly happening, Hot Mess, and has also taught throughout the city, most notably at Gibney Dance. Her latest endeavors include making work under the moniker, Crooked Mouth, and contributing as a performing artist with both Inclined Dance Project and Megan Bascom and Dancers. When not dancing she can be found tending bar, hiding in Queens, and trying to keep up with all the things.
Open Auditions - Ages 18+, All styles of dance!
Come to our open call auditions on Sunday August 26 from 1-4pm at Playhouse Square, Green Rehearsal Room if you're looking for a new dance family to help keep dance in your life! Every effort will be made to cast everyone who attends in at least one piece! Registration starts at 12:15, but pre-registration is required. Choreographers have been announced on the Facebook event, stay tuned for tentative rehearsal schedule. All levels & all styles of dance are welcome!
